Beaver Creek Resort's Lift Mechanic's team is looking for a motivated individual to join and lead their team. The responsibilities of the Lift Mechanic Team Lead include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervisory position for lift mechanics with direct reports

  • Responsible for hiring /staffing scheduling and performance management and evaluation

  • Fulfills day-to-day work responsibilities for the department as needed

  • Exhibits the highest level of expertise in all areas

  • Leads and creates training opportunities for staff

  • Responsible for following the Vail Resorts safety and risk management policies and procedures

  • Responsible for performing all routine and assigned maintenance procedures under the guidance of lift maintenance manager and senior mechanics

  • Responsible for recording all information of work performed on lifts and submitting to Lift Dispatch in a timely manner

  • Responsible for assuring that the Maintenance Manager, Lead and Dispatch is immediately informed and consulted on all abnormal or unusual conditions, incidents observations or system malfunctions

  • Assist in ongoing training and support of apprentices, and maintenance helpers and seasonal lift staff

  • Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Lift Parts and operational supplies budgeting

  • Responsible for maintenance shops, and on mountain lifts


  • Education: High School Degree, or equivalent - required

  • Must have at least 4 years if mechanical experience -required

  • At least 2 years leadership/ supervisory experience - required

  • Must have a valid driver's license - required

  • Must be computer proficient

  • Fluent in oral and written English - required

  • Must be able to work at heights up to 100 Feet

  • Excellent hydraulics knowledge, rigging certified, and outstanding troubleshooting skills - highly preferred

  • Must be able to work outdoors in adverse mountain weather conditions

  • Must be able to work Holidays/Weekends/Evenings - required

  • Must be able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level - required
