Junior Software Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for an ambitious junior developer to be responsible for building, testing, and maintaining web applications for the Digital team at Vail Resorts. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Reporting to the Development Manager, this individual will leverage modern coding techniques using Microsoft .NET MVC to deliver efficient and scalable functionality to applications supporting our guest-facing websites.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance existing web applications.

  • Work closely with business partners to deliver application requirements across all functional business units including online marketing, season pass and ticket sales, ski lessons, lodging reservations, account management, and more.

  • Work with senior developers and architects to develop features within a robust CMS.

  • Write and update unit tests to ensure code coverage.

  • Troubleshoot issues and prototype technical solutions.

  • Help develop and analyze load and performance tests.

  • Maintain and create documentation for Application features and processes.

  • Proactively contribute to the team with an Agile mindset.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree, preferably with a focus in computer science or information systems.

  • 2+ Years of experience developing and/or testing web applications.

  • Experience coding in C# with OOP using Visual Studio, ASP.NET, and MVC.NET.

  • Experience developing and consuming a RESTful API.

  • Understanding of Microsoft MVC and dependency injection patterns.

  • Familiar with source control technologies, specifically Git.

  • Working knowledge of web frameworks like jQuery and Bootstrap.

  • A passion for the ski industry.

Preferred Skills

  • Solid understanding of the web application lifecycle.

  • Experience in delivering solutions for a content management system, preferably Sitecore.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft IIS and server technologies.

  • Understanding of SQL and Server Databases.

  • Knowledge of testing automation technologies.

  • Strong grasp of SOA, ESB and OWASP security principles.

  • Experience testing code for PCI compliance.

  • Experience with third-party APIs.
