Job Summary:

This is a newly created position. For the first 1-2 years, the focus will be on establishing a forecasting and planning process by creating tools, reports, and defining planning standards. Long term, this position will provide analysis and financial focus for decisions and strategies that deliver and maximize sales, margin, and turn goals. This role will produce reporting and analysis of department plans to monitor results, trends, and business drivers to ensure financial goals are met. This role will provide research and analysis to clearly identify business drivers, anticipate outcomes, and recommend future actions

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with merchants in the forecasting of sales, margin, receipt, inventory and turn metrics reflecting trends and business drivers; to communicate and present forecasts to leadership. Revise in-season forecasts whenever necessary to ensure accuracy.

  • Creates and communicates seasonal department financial & product strategies and ensures alignment of department plans connecting to financial targets and OTB

  • Participates in open-to-buy activities at company and department levels incorporating call outs from the forecasts in terms of opportunity and or risk to the financial forecast

  • Partners with merchant team to develop and execute key business decisions such as: promotional buy opportunities, markdowns, assortment plans, exit strategies, and ad-hoc analysis

  • Produces weekly and monthly reporting relevant to business

  • Builds, maintains, and evolves tools. Creates dashboards, reports out on the business and runs ad-hoc analysis on projects, tests, or new initiatives

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 2+ merchandise planning or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years Microsoft Excel experience including: pivot tables, formulas, and data manipulation

  • English both written and verbal

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong leadership, relationship building, and collaboration skills

  • Ability to research and analyze large amounts of data, draw sound conclusions, and make formal recommendations
