Summary of Job:

The Active Directory Engineer role directly supports the company’s datacenter and cloud and on premises Active Directory ecosystem. The ideal candidate is someone that has strong experience administering Active Directory solutions in support of diverse systems and applications, with a strong understanding of Microsoft Best Practices. This position is responsible for building and maintaining performance, availability, integrity, and confidentiality across the core application and user environment as it relates to User and Computer Objects, Group Policy, and overall authentication and authorization to resources. The position will also support other IT teams and will cross train with other team members as needed. Personal responsibility, ownership, and thoughtful execution of work is paramount!

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Have a strong natural grasp for IT fundamentals in systems and applications, especially as it relates to authentication and authorization to resources.

  2. Manage and maintain Microsoft on-prem and cloud IAM environments, with Azure Active Directory and Federated Identity Management. Have a strong understanding of certification, authentication, and identity; including Directory Services, Active Directory, LDAP, MFA and 2FA, SSO, SAML, Oauth, OpenID, Access Management, Adaptive and Risk Based authentication, including on-prem to cloud hybrid authentication with full synchronization.

  3. Manage AD by OU, GPO, and User and Computer Objects with a high degree of understanding around complexity and related impacts to the user community.

  4. Assist in the management of provisioning and deprovisioning of users on multiple computing platforms, including PC/Mac, Web, and Mobile.

  5. Creating and maintain clearly written systems documentation for technical and/or nontechnical teams, including support documentation for the helpdesk team and the application development teams using the IAM integrations.

  6. Exercise ownership of troubleshooting and further integrations in a complex application environment.

  7. Responsible for maintaining infrastructure systems with a team of peers across multiple environments in multiple co-located datacenters, including coordinating and acting on security event information with the Security Operations team and partnering with the Security and Risk Management team.

  8. Comply with all current and future Sarbanes-Oxley and PCI-DSS IT standards and procedures relating to compliance-enforced systems, including maintenance and changes as necessary.

  9. Support the company after-hours, weekends, and holidays in support of an on-call rotation as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree in MIS or 5 years’ experience in similar role

  • Must have 5+ years of supporting an enterprise technology environment

  • Must have 3+ years of experience supporting other teams

  • Must have 2+ years in Identity and Access Management

  • CISSP or other general security certification preferred

  • Advanced applications and systems proficiency (Tier 4 Support)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Significant experience with Microsoft Identity products (FIM/AAD)

  • Availability for afterhours support and maintenance, on-call duties
