The Sr. Specialist of Retail will be responsible for driving the development and growth of Vail Resorts Retail CO-OP program and consumer insights of our retail guests, while supporting the seasonal planning process and assisting the Brand, Digital and CRM managers in achieving overall goals and high level strategic imperatives for retail
Essential Job Responsibilities
Drive the development and growth of the CO-OP program for retail, increasing the overall investment from our partners based on key initiatives to drive growth overall. Develop a comprehensive plan, pitch it to key stakeholders for approval and manage the execution of the program across the resort teams.
Manage and develop retail research to better understand the retail customer overall. Leveraging the internal research team and external resources to formalize consumer insights and distribute across the VRR division for enhanced decision making.
Drive alignment around best practices and insights for retail, sharing them across the resort portfolio and within the retail marketing team to maximize ROI
Support the Sr. Retail Manager in driving the business growth for our retail business, focusing on key brands in our portfolio, included, but limited to; Concept doors in our resorts, resort branded retail locations, Epic Mountain Gear, Bicycle Village, CA- Any Mountain, MN and Hoigaards.
Reporting and recap on overall retail and seasonal/campaign KPI’s results to key stakeholders, including key insights on the “why”.
Monitor competitive activity to report and move on key insights, best practices, and competitive differentiators for retail
Manage all budget requests and data entry into retail’s accounting system, ensuring invoices are paid on-time
• Bachelor degree in Marketing or related field, MBA or advanced degree a plus
• A minimum of 3 years of marketing strategy and execution, including advertising, promotions, public relations, and CRM - required
• Agency experience, retail experience, leadership experience and budget management experience - required
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• English fluency
• Creative mindset
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• High level of organizational detail and the ability to multi-task
• Analytically driven
• Has the ability to synthesize different data sets into key actionable insights
