As a travel accountant you will be responsible for the accuracy of the accounting transactions generated from the lodging and reservations point of sales systems. This includes creating payables, auditing transactions and general ledger activity, maintaining system master files, posting transactions in the various point of sales systems, creating general ledger journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. You will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including answering inquiries in a timely and professional manner. This role will work with other members of the department to implement process improvements and maximize efficiencies. As a travel accountant you are responsible for the completeness and accuracy of the balance sheet and are expected to maintain compliance with SOX 404 protocols. Additional job duties will be expected as assigned.


Process weekly payments to our travel partners

Correspond with travel partners via email and phone conversations

Audit transactions made in the lodging and reservations point of sales systems

Maintain system master files

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and complete variance analysis monthly

Complete month end journal entries and processes as part of our month end close

Work together with the travel accounting team to ensure all processes and transactions are correct and completed

Additional job duties as assigned


Bachelor’s degree in business preferred

0-5 years in an accounting role

Must be detail oriented

Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization both written and verbally

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience in Tour Partner, Inntopia, AS400, and PeopleSoft Financials preferred

Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task
