Executive Housekeeping Manager's Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for managing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are maintained. This position will provide oversight of guest rooms and public areas, and management of all housekeeping activities including budget reviews, ordering supplies, labor tracking, scheduling, staffing, room inspections, training, disciplining and development of employees. Investigate complaints, evaluate corrective actions and implement plan to resolve and de-escalate conflicts.

  • Additional responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively to provide clear direction in assigning and instructing housekeeping in details of work.

  • Manage finances of housekeeping operations including budget, forecasts and inventory

  • Provide staffing, training, counseling and performance reviews for the housekeeping department.

  • Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters.

  • Comply with all Resort policies, procedures and standards of operation.

  • Ensure the Housekeeping Department leads the charge in regard to recycling.

  • Solicit employee feedback and review employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.

  • Emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement.

  • Capital budget, perform any additional tasks or projects as required.

  • Supervise and review with the staff all the maintenance reports.

  • Maintain high moral, good work environment, sense of professionalism and guide the staff to increase productivity.

  • Maintain a high safety standards

Executive Housekeeping Manager's Qualifications needed:

  • High School/College Degree preferred

  • Must have 5-7 years’ experience in hospitality rooms division, with progressive levels of responsibility. Property management housekeeping experience highly preferred.

  • 3+ years’ experience in managing people required, including expertise in scheduling, managing room inventory, employee productivity

  • Proficient in Microsoft office esp. Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of LMS helpful

  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English. Conversational Spanish very helpful.

  • Valid drivers’ license helpful

  • High level skill in interacting with a diverse group of people, including employees from different cultural backgrounds and guests from many locations. Must have excellent communication skills, and be able to clearly and effectively communicate with staff and guests.
