The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for operating, staffing, and managing various F&B outlets within the Grand Summit Hotel, including in-room dining, our winter seasonal breakfast buffet, and the year-round First Tracks Café. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Plan, supervise, and coordinate the daily operations for each outlet, including the ordering and maintaining appropriate food & supply inventory.
Interview, hire, and train all staff.
Complete self-audits for each outlet on a regular basis.
Plan and conduct daily stand up meetings with all staff; conduct all-team meetings at least every 90 days.
Confer regularly with staff to coordinate activities, assign and check work, resolve problems, etc.
Supervise and assist with all operations daily, ensuring a strong and positive presence in each outlet.
Plan work schedules in accordance with business needs, remaining flexible in your schedule so as to best adapt to both seasonal and staffing fluctuations.
Ensure health & safety procedures and regulations are followed; monitor service to ensure appropriate quality standards are met.
Prepare a variety of administrative reports and records, including timesheets, staffing reports, performance reviews, inventories, cash reports, etc.
Work with Department Manager on all budgets, updating forecasts appropriately each month.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with various departments such as Conference Services, Human Resources, Marketing, and others that you will work with on a frequent basis.
At least two years of Food & Beverage experience – required.
At least one year restaurant supervisory experience – required.
Basic knowledge and experience with inventory control, staff scheduling, cash reporting, and similar administrative and management functions – required.
College degree – preferred.
Basic Microsoft Office Suite, administrative, math, and cash handling skills – required.
Ability to work a varied and flexible schedule when necessary, including nights, weekends, and holidays depending on staffing and business levels.
Ability to regularly & courteously converse with a variety of guests, employees, vendors, etc.; stepping in to solve conflicts when necessary.
Ability to manage a variety of F&B outlets and staff in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a team-player mentality.
Ability to effectively and efficiently adapt to changes in the business, staffing, or feedback, while continuously innovating within your outlets.
