The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for the efficient operation of resort shuttle services, while ensuring that all drivers comply with DOT regulated hours of service and California state labor laws. The dispatcher is also responsible for the supervision of all drivers on duty and reporting any issues up line immediately. This position requires continually revising targets of operation and proactively adjusting the operation to meet volume based operating plan levels with assistance from the supervisor on duty. Provides drivers with break times in compliance with stated regulatory agencies, completes data entry for mileage and passenger counts daily, creates daily guest information sheets for drivers and completes next day assignment sheet. Effectively communicates via 2-way radio and is familiar with 10 codes. Answers all dispatch office phone calls in busy multi-tasking environment, troubleshoots and resolves guest issues, communicates road conditions and chaining requirements. Provides consistently excellent guest service every day.

  • Assign, verify, and log all driver breaks in accordance with CA State labor law and FMCSA requirements.

  • Answer dispatch phone for transportation department related questions and service inquiries.

  • Log vehicle mileage, fuel use, and passenger counts on a daily basis.

  • Help produce next day’s assignment sheet with supervisor team.

  • Adjust staffing levels to meet resort needs in conjunction with department supervisors and management.

  • Ensure department service standards are met at all times, notifying supervisors or managers immediately when foreseeable gaps exist, and recommend alternatives.

  • Aid in ensuring all incidents and injuries are reported up the chain of command immediately, with accurate information.

  • Additional duties as assignedRequirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • High School Diploma(or equivalent)

  • 1 Year of CDL driving in South Lake Tahoe (prefered)

  • Previous experience with dispatch system
