This is a temporary position. Candidates are being hired to complete specific projects. Full-time hours throughout the entire season are not guaranteed.

Summary of Job: To function as a team member within Maintenance and other Departments. Ability to make competent decisions while thinking of the customers and resorts interest at all times. Use skill-based knowledge to perform assigned tasks in a professional manner at all times with focus on efficiency and quality of work. This position can cover many departments pertaining to repairs upkeep and preventative maintenance as requested. People skills planning, execution, control, communication are essential in completing tasks efficiently and keeping department informed on work status. Vail resorts core values are necessary to succeed in this function.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assure that the integrity of the resort assets are maintained.

  • Follow all safety procedures and alert supervisor to any unsafe conditions that may exist.

  • Work with other departments as required, and assist higher-level techs in tasks that are more complex.

  • Maintain job logs updated daily.

  • Maintain a valid Driver’s License.

  • Repair and replace parts, piping valves and other fittings as assigned.

  • Good understanding of dry wall application, painting and general repairs.

  • Good basic knowledge in appliance installation and other mechanical equipment including troubleshooting.

  • Knowledgeable with plumbing and electrical systems, controls and kitchen equipment.

  • Knowledgeable on Lock Out/Tag Out procedure, OSHA, EPA and MSDS.

  • Abide by all safety rules and regulations from corporate, State and Federal.

  • Maintain good attitude and people skills even during high-pressure situations, be a good leader.

  • Other duties as assigned related to function

Job Requirements:

  • Education (preferred but not required) - 1-2 year: Trade school; Plumbing, electrical, mechanical or artisan.

  • Work Experience (preferred but not required) - Min 1 year Plumbing in maintenance or as installer, 1 year electrical experience.

  • Supervisory Experience - An advantage.

  • Licenses/Accreditations - Optional Certified/License Plumber and/or optional Certified/License Electrician.

  • Clean driver’s license.

  • Computer Skills - Microsoft Office

  • Language(s) Skill - Read write and speak English fluently.

  • Other Requirements - Public relations/skills. Good administrative and leadership skills.

  • Preferred Skills - Ability to get things done, understand and read plans. Planning, organizing and responsibility are key attributes. Must be able to work on ladders and scaffolding to perform above ground work

Other Requirements:

  • Indoor/Outdoor - A requirement for the job.

  • Hazardous Materials/Noise - Some work areas will be noisy. Knowledgeable in MSDA, OSHA and lock out procedure. May be in contact with some grease and oils.

  • Equipment Used in Job - PPE, hand and power tools will be provided.

  • Holidays/Weekends/Evenings - A Requirement to work.

  • Other - Attend Vail resorts mandatory trainings for function.
