Ritz True North, Product Sales & Services Manager – Winter – Seasonal – 2018/19

The True North Product Sales & Services Manager expertly oversees sales and services for all ticket, season pass, and ski school products at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe ski shop. This position works directly with the VRR Rental/Retail manager in an integrated operational environment, which focuses on cross training all team members to be one unified team. These two teams (PSS & VRR) work together to deliver exception guest service to the Ritz-Carlton and on-mountain residence for all ski rental, retail, lessons and ticketing needs. This location requires a high level of professionalism, presentation, guest service, and overall knowledge of our products and services at Northstar. This position also is required to maintain a strong partnership with the Ritz-Carlton hotel management staff throughout the season, and work together to create the “Experience of a Lifetime” for our guest and employees.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for a team of 7-8 frontline employees including a Supervisor for leadership support.

  • Manage office to accurately process all facets of sales and adjustments of Ski and Ride School products, lift tickets, and season passes. This includes processing all retail and rental transactions in Epicor through an integrated one-stop-shop location.

  • Partner with the Retail/Rental shop manager towards being a fully integrated team where all employees are cross trained on all services, systems, and offerings of the True North shop.

  • Personnel management including hiring, training, scheduling, performance reviews, counseling and disciplinary actions. Accurately perform all Time & Labor entries & approvals in PeopleSoft.

  • Thorough knowledge of RPOS, Guest Connect, and Application Manager and other applicable computer systems/applications (i.e. Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office).

  • Operate and troubleshoot RPOS/Guest Connect computer and associated peripherals; printers, scanners and cameras as well as general office equipment.

  • Perform minor maintenance where appropriate and as required.

  • Responsible and oversee all daily monies, i.e. operating banks, cash reserve banks and bank drops in accordance with company guidelines and must have basic accounting skills.

  • Exemplify exceptional external guest and inter/intra departmental relations. Stay abreast of guests’ needs and actively promote sales of products and services to meet those needs.

  • Create and manage department budget. Control costs within operational budget guidelines.

  • Assist in development of departmental and companywide policies and procedures.

  • Produce reports/information to management as requested.

  • In depth knowledge of marketing programs including our FY19 strategic plans and brand promise of being “ The premium family resort in California.”

  • Complete special projects as assigned and initiate special projects as needed.

  • Complete mid-season and end of season performance appraisals for direct reports.

  • Coordinate with director and management team to create and implement training plan.

  • Create a fun, positive and supportive work environment.

  • Work with Product Management & Accounting to insure all products and services at set up correctly at your location.

  • Work closely with PSS Management team at Northstar to help cross-train, job share and support the overall PSS purpose of fulfilling the appropriate products for our guest.

  • Participate in all Northstar Mountain Leadership Team functions, meetings, and off-site events.

  • Provide on-going feedback to director and management team regarding guest service issues and suggestions.

  • Take ownership of self-development by attending workshops and training for professional growth.

Requirements:

  • 3 years’ experience in the resort/recreation/attraction industry

  • 2 years of supervisory experience in the selling/cashiering environment

  • Previous RPOS experience

  • Expert at all aspects of the English language

  • Excellent employee relation and problem solving abilities

  • Excellent computer skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication skills

  • Basic accounting skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

  • College degree

  • Prior supervisory experience in PSS
