This is a management position on our banquet team. This individual will assist in directly managing our full time and part time service teams to ensure an efficient and accurate operation. Administrative responsibilities will include managing payroll, scheduling, and implementation of our labor effeciency model. Operational responsibilities will include training, development, and accountability of team leadership.


  • Assist in the process of finding, interviewing, hiring, training, and furthering the abilities of all hotel banquet staff.

  • Manage department payroll to include benefit pay and bonuses.

  • Manage department scheduling.

  • Manage the tracking of department inventory.

  • Assist in managing labor effeciency model to stay in line with annual department labor budget.

  • Assist in conducting biannual department performance reviews.

  • Assist in management and development of members of the team through regularly scheduled coaching sessions and unscheduled real time performance feedback.

  • Will promote teamwork by anticipating, preventing, identifying and addressing areas of conflict within the team.

  • Must be a role model for all banquet staff by actively participating in training, development, and execution of service.

  • Assist in maximizing hotel food and beverage revenues by way of strategic menu selection, pricing, and upsell opportunities.

  • Assist in modernizing banquet presentation while managing budgeted controllable expenses.

  • Assist in daily Banquet Event Order review and distribution.

  • Assist in managing daily event changes, pop up events, and off cycle event requests.

  • Assist in tracking and recording department service performance to better position future group sales and service efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Marriott brand banquet experience; preferred.

  • Supervisory Experience:

  • Previous banquet supervisory experience; required.

  • Previous hotel supervisory experience; preferred.

  • Licenses/Accreditations:

  • TIPS certification.

  • Safe Serve certification.

  • Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency; preffered.

  • Language(s) Skill:

  • Fluent English; required.

  • Fluent Spanish; preffered.

  • Must be able to meet physical demands of the role - including but not limited to lifting 25 - 50 lbs.

  • Experience with: Bartending, Serving, Supervisory
