Retail Training Sr Specialist is responsible for training and development for retail field employees at Vail Resorts Retail.
The VRR Talent Management Sr. Specialist is responsible for the development and onboarding for all retail employees up to and including senior leaders at Vail Resorts Retail. As one of the first points of contact for employee retail training, the position will be responsible for providing a high level of service to employees, team leads, supervisors and managers. This position will be a key resource for all leaders, consulting with them in the most effective use of all retail training and development programs and processes. This position will also be responsible for the implementation of all retail employee training programs (New hire training, GUIDE, etc.) on an as needed basis is in charge of continued maintenance and up keep of retail training programs. The Talent Development Sr. Specialist is a member of the Talent Development team and reports to the Senior Manager of Talent Development, Retail.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Partners with field stakeholders to develop and monitor Leadership Management Systems based trainings.
Coordinates and delivers leadership workshops as needed for assigned region.
Organizes training and support requirements: establishing training calendar, program marketing, establishing room reservations and set-up, gathering participant list, facility and materials administration, etc.
Facilitates training sessions as needed. Certifies field teams with Train the Trainer Sessions.
Coordinates and supports Vendor Trainings
Maintenance of existing retail enterprise training processes and curriculum.
Assists Sr. Manager of Talent Development in developing training programs, quick references, job aids, etc. to support retail operational employee needs.
Assists in the communication of retail TD offerings, services, events, etc. for retail field teams.
Monitor metrics to measure impact of development activities.
Acts as liaison between VR and VRR to ensure appropriate support, involvement and inclusion with VR sponsored training and development initiatives, courses, etc.
Partners with Marketing to support employee communication programs/initiatives (Epic Service, Values, VRR Facebook page, VRR employee web-site, etc.).
Responsible for expense reporting and budget adherence.
Other duties as assigned
Three plus (3+) years prior talent development/leadership development training experience, preferably for a large business
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining business relationships, utilizing internal consulting skills
Experience designing enterprise talent development programs
Experience measuring the impact of talent management programs and initiatives
Experience successfully planning and delivering projects, programs and process improvements
Experience successfully leading and implementing change
Strong stakeholder communication skills
Must be able to influence colleagues above and below current level
Strong team player
Organization and project management skills
Certification in leadership coaching – preferred
Retail experience – preferred
Certification in any well-known leadership development program (Covey,VitalSmarts) - preferred
Certification in preference evaluations (DiSC, Insights Discovery, MBTI) – preferred
