As part of the Front Desk team, the Bellman's main responsibility is welcoming guests, assisting with their luggage and responding to guest requests via the Front Desk. This role is the face of Lodging Ovations and contributes directly to the success of the Front Office team.

What you'll be doing:

Bellman/Lobby:

  • Greeting and welcoming owners and guests; asking if the guest requires assistance with their luggage, ski equipment, bikes etc.

  • Ensure there are always 4 luggage carts in the lobby and that these are kept clean and polished

  • Making sure the lobby is tidy; cushions set correctly, newspapers on the coffee table, garbage bins are emptied

  • Store luggage for guests in the luggage room. Never leave a guest unattended in the luggage room, tell guests to keep passport/boarding passes in a backpack or wallet they always carry with them

Front Desk:

  • Check your emails daily

  • Check the amount of arrivals and departures

  • Run the VIP arrivals report for the upcoming day and conduct a VIP inspection of the rooms

  • Request a list of the checkout rooms from the front desk (11:30am) and conduct room checks for express check-outs

  • Check the diary for the movies to be played in Evolution and Legend’s Media Rooms and put on movie for guests as appropriate

  • Create work orders for maintenance

  • Understand how to read a guest folio to be able to cover the Front Desk when required including making key cards for guests and answering the switchboard

  • Assist the Conference Services Coordinator in setting up, refreshing and pulling down in the Conference Room for every group booking

Guest Services:

  • Respond to guest requests via the Front Desk which includes but not limited to helping guests with in suite amenities, making deliveries to guest suites and housekeeping requests after hours

What we need from you:

  • Previous Guest Service experience a must

  • Previous experience working in a hotel an asset

  • Excellent communication; fluent in English

  • Strong administrative and computer skills

  • High level of integrity and maturity; ability to work unsupervised
